US 7 (4.5 mm) or US 8 (5.0 mm) or US 9 (5.5 mm) straight or circular knitting needles (wood or bamboo is best).

about 200 yards of medium weight 4 yarn (light-colored solid yarn is best).

tape measure.

tapestry needle.

yarn snips or scissors.

before the first session, you will start with videos that demonstrate the fundamentals so you can start right away. watch the slip knot, knitted cast on, and knit stitch videos.

for the first session, cast on 28 stitches with a knitted cast on and knit several rows.
